چکیده

The present experiment was designed for estrus induction in post-partum anestrus cattle. A total of 120 cows were examined reproductive status, and 30 incorporated induction, including 24 6 normal cyclic cows. assigned to 5 groups (6 animals per group). group-1 induced using Ovsynch protocol, while group-2 inserted TRIU-B (958 mg progesterone) intra-vaginal inseminated at a fixed time. group-3 supplemented with standard chelated mineral mixture 40 g per-oral daily 45 days on observed estrus. Group-4 included untreated group-5 control Estrus response 100% 1 2, 66.66%, 0.00% 3 5, respectively. conception rate 1, 3, 4 33.33%, 50.00%, 75.00%, 83.33% 0.00%, mean serum progesterone different increased non-significantly from 0 21 post- insemination. All groups’ calcium significantly day 21. However, the phosphorus showed no such significant differences between within groups. It noticed that overall Ca:P ratio disturbed (Ca being lower side) under study, which might be attributed animals’ condition. In conclusion, Ovsynch, TRIU-B, proved useful ovulation enhancement pregnancy

Physiological mechanisms controlling anestrus and infertility in postpartum beef cattle.

Postpartum infertility is caused by four factors: general infertility, lack of uterine involution, short estrous cycles and anestrus. The general infertility component is common to any estrous cycle and reduces potential fertility by 20 to 30%. Incomplete uterine involution prevents fertilization during the first 20 d after calving but is not related to anestrus. Short estrous cycles prevent fe...

Comparative efficacy of different estrus synchronization protocols on estrus induction response, fertility and plasma progesterone and biochemical profile in crossbred anestrus cows

AIM To evaluate estrus induction response and fertility including plasma progesterone and biochemical profile following use of three standard hormonal protocols in anestrus crossbred cows. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study was carried out on 40 true anestrus and 10 normal cyclic cows. 10 anestrus cows each were treated with standard intravaginal controlled internal drug release (CIDR) device, O...

A review of synchronization of estrus in postpartum cattle.

Estrus has been synchronized in cattle with progestogens, prostaglandins (prostaglandin F2 alpha and its analogues), progestogen-estrogen combinations and progestogen-prostaglandin combinations. Progestogens administered for 14 to 20 d are effective in synchronizing estrus; however, fertility at the synchronized estrus is subnormal. Duration of progestogen treatment can be reduced by combining ...

Distribution of time to first postpartum estrus in beef cattle.

The function of a distribution that describes postpartum interval (PPI) under any experimental treatment is useful for simulation modeling, understanding the effects of stimuli on the endocrine system, and estimating the average PPI in experiments terminated before all animals have expressed estrus. This study was undertaken to compare the fit of three statistical distributions, the Weibull, th...

Understanding Puberty and Postpartum Anestrus

Managerial and economic efficiencies of cattle reproduction systems that are seasonal in nature are most likely to benefit from having a compact calving season. Effective replacement heifer development is a critical segment of the integrated management program in an efficient beef cow production system. The replacement heifer represents the future profitability and genetic improvement of the co...
